Compass & Location
Why is my compass inaccurate?
The accuracy of your device’s compass may be affected by local magnetic interference.
To ensure the best performance, keep your device away from other magnetic sources, such as electronic devices and appliances.
Additionally, check your device case for any magnetic elements that could interfere with the compass.
What is the “Calibrate Compass” alert?
The ‘Calibrate compass’ alert is automatically triggered when the iOS/iPadOS compass is not properly calibrated. This alert is displayed to inform you of potential inaccuracies, which may also be caused by external environmental factors in certain locations.
Click on the alert button and follow our in-app suggestions.
Make sure that Location Services and compass calibration are enabled on your device.
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services (at the bottom).
And turn on « Compass Calibration ».

No, SunQuest does not collect any personal data.
Solar simulation
In which countries are solar estimates available?
SunQuest offers solar potential data for hundreds of millions of buildings across more than 40 countries, including the US, Europe, and Japan. Please note that estimates may not be available for certain buildings.
Are solar simulations accurate?
Yes, SunQuest provides highly accurate solar simulations. Using advanced AI, it considers key variables, including:
– Location’s Solar Potential: Weather patterns and sunshine levels.
– Orientation: The pitch and azimuth of each part of the roof.
– Shading: Obstructions from nearby trees and buildings.
Please note that the estimates are best suited for residences or small commercial structures.
Can I change the solar panel capacity?
Yes! The solar panels used in simulations have a standard size of 1.879 x 1.045 meters. By default, the panel efficiency is set at 16.8%, providing a power output of 330 watts per panel or 168 watts/m².
You can adjust the “Panel Efficiency” parameter to modify the efficiency of the panels, which will directly impact their power output.
How can I change inverter efficiency and cable loss?
You can adjust inverter efficiency and cable loss using the “DC to AC Derate” global parameter. This setting controls the efficiency at which the inverter converts the DC electricity generated by the solar panels into AC electricity used in households, factoring in overall system losses.
The default value is 85%.
General
